San Antonio de Padua Convent

It was erected by the first Counts of Alba de Liste as an offering for the liberation of D. Enrique Enriquez, their son, who fell prisoner of the Portuguese in the battle of Toro in 1476. It was the residence of the Catholic Monarchs in 1497 and the seat of the Franciscan community from which dozens of friars who participated in the evangelization of the New World came from. Its ruinous state has been in decay since the Disentailment in 1835. More information on the website turismogarrovillas.com
